Kumudini Handicrafts Bangladesh
Profile
The Kumudini Handicrafts Centre was established in 1980 with the objective of supporting the fine arts and traditional cottage industries in Bangladesh.
Our forte lies in in our heritage production methods, our raw materials, and the use of vivid vegetable dyes. All production is done by hand, such as block printing and hand embroidery.
It is one of our goals to empower women by creating economic opportunities and to uplift their social footing within their families and society. Kumudini Handicrafts’ Embroidery work is done by women all over Bangladesh, many of whom come from the poorer areas of the country. They are trained by us and have the flexibility of working from home. Kumudini Handicrafts is empowering women all over the country, one artisan at a time.
